Livestock:
With a total flock of nearly 7 million ducks and an average egg production of over 273 million eggs/year, Dong Thap Province is currently the locality with the largest total number of duck in the Mekong Delta.
In recent years, Dong Thap Province has oriented farmers to apply biosecurity and VietGAP certification in farming process. Instead of using the traditional method of farming, farmers have started to farm duck in industrial orientation and in the direction of concentrated production.
Currently, Dong Thap Province has established many models of concentrated production and association. The province has 5 cooperative groups for raising duck with an average output of over 3.8 million eggs/month. These models are being developed and replicated in many localities of Dong Thap Province.
Plantation:
Farmers in many districts of Can Tho City have planted more than 2,269 hectares of sesame in the summer-autumn crop of 2020. The area is 1.713 hectares more than the same period last year. In which, mainly sesame is grown on rice fields.
Sesame is a crop with high drought tolerance, so it is suitable to be grown in the summer-autumn crop. The plant helps farmers save production cost and avoid the risk of water shortage, especially in areas with high mounds. In recent years, sesame has been grown on rice fields. Thanks to sesame, farmers gain a profit 2-3 times higher than summer-autumn rice production.
Many farmers said that rotating sesame-rice cultivation in the summer-autumn crop not only helps them to increase the profit in this season, but also supports the next rice production crop.
Fruits:
In recent years, many farming households in Khanh Son District, Khanh Hoa Province, have invested in installing water-saving irrigation systems for their orchards. The systems initially shown remarkable results.
In the increasingly severe drought and weather conditions, water resource for crops in the district is scarce. Thus, the choice of water-saving irrigation technology is essential, especially when implementing models based on VietGap standard. Water-saving irrigation technology helps plants grow well, maintain high yield and good quality.
According to many orchard and garden owners, water-saving irrigation systems helps reduce nearly half of time, labor, electricity and water. At Son Trung Commune Durian Cooperative Group, more than 10 members have invested in installing water-saving irrigation systems.
Farmers, Agriculture, Countryside:
The city of Hanoi has promoted the transformation of inefficient rice land into more efficient farming models. Hanoi has developed 1,096 agricultural cooperatives and formed 115 linkage models in agricultural production. In particular, the districts have many agriculture linkage models in production include Ung Hoa with 21 models, Gia Lam with 18 models, Dong Anh with 14 models, Soc Son with 9 models, Quoc Oai with 9 models, and My Duc with 8 models.
Agriculture linkage models create positive changes, help people develop production and support branded agricultural products. They also ensure the output for agricultural products with stable consumption markets.
Living and Environment:
Hail and thunderstorms occurred on the night of March 17 and the morning of March 18 in 4 provinces of Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Lai Chau and Phu Tho. The natural disasters have caused damages in these localities.
Provinces in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa region are actively informing people the responses to overcome damages caused by rain, thunderstorms, lightning and hail in the area.
Pet, Flowers and Ornamental Plants:
The formation of Dalat Hasfarm has become an important factor in developing advanced flower-growing technologies in Dalat City and Lam Dong Province. The farm is a "revolution" in sustainable flower-growing technologies, which produce clean, safe, and beautiful flower products.
Dalat Hasfarm Company has used many technologies such as applying biological products, natural enemies, organic fertilizers, to create safe flower products for consumers. The most advanced flower-growing systems and techniques imported from Europe are applied by the company at its farm. Thus, Dalat Hasfarm is one of the few fresh flower brands that meet the requirements for export of difficult markets.
